Avanti™ DSPC

1,2-distearoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine (DSPC)

18:0 PC (DSPC), is a fully saturated phospholipid that features two 18-carbon acyl chains. 18:0 PC (DSPC) is a cornerstone in liposomal drug delivery, vaccine formulations, and lipid bilayer research due to its exceptionally high phase transition temperature of around 55°C. Studies show that its stability and low permeability make it an essential lipid for nanoparticle-based therapeutics and controlled-release drug systems.

As a key lipid in long-circulating liposomes, 18:0 PC (DSPC) ensures drug stability, extended half-life, and precise controlled release in pharmaceutical applications. It is also a critical component of mRNA and lipid nanoparticle-based vaccines, as it improves target antigen delivery and immune response.

Additionally, research has shown that 18:0 PC (DSPC) has well-characterized phase behavior, making it ideal for lipid bilayer modeling, phase transition studies, and protein-lipid interaction analysis. Additionally, 18:0 PC (DSPC) is widely used in thermotropic and mechanical property evaluations because it has a high gel-to-liquid crystalline transition temperature.

Lipids systems are a versatile option for delivering hydrophobic, hydrophilic and amphipathic APIs. Our offering of Phosphatidylcholine, Phosphatidylethanolamine, Phosphatidylserine, and Phosphatidylglycerol lipids is designed to provide compounds having a variety of physical properties for a broad range of delivery systems.
