Avanti™ DEPC

1,2-dierucoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine, or 22:1 (Cis) PC (DEPC) is an unsaturated phospholipid featuring 22-carbon monounsaturated acyl chains with a cis double bond. DEPC has a low phase transition temperature of about –15–20°C. For this reason, it is commonly used in liposome formulations, membrane fluidity studies, and protein-lipid interaction research.

As a crucial piece of long-circulating liposomes and nanoparticles, DEPC ensures enhanced stability and efficient drug/gene delivery. Additionally, it models highly fluid membranes by supporting lipid raft formation, domain organization, and lateral diffusion studies. Another notable characteristic of 22:1 (Cis) PC (DEPC) is its high membrane flexibility, which helps facilitate ion channel studies and transmembrane protein integration.

Lipids systems are a versatile option for delivering hydrophobic, hydrophilic and amphipathic APIs. Our offering of Phosphatidylcholine, Phosphatidylethanolamine, Phosphatidylserine, and Phosphatidylglycerol lipids is designed to provide compounds having a variety of physical properties for a broad range of delivery systems.
