The Synperonic PE poloxamers find application as solubilisers, emulsifiers, surfactants, thermoreversible gelling agents, wetting agents, foamers and defoamers depending on their different PEO/PPO ratios and molecular weights. Synperonic PE/L 61 (poloxamer 181) functions as a W/O emulsifier and is an excellent defoamer that finds application in fermentation processes where it reduces foam build-up in reactors.
